No signal is a normal operating mode.
Plant rooms and basements do not come with coverage. Fenwix is engineered so the entire core workflow (inspect, capture evidence, report, verify) completes on the device, with no required cloud round-trip.
What works offline today
- Autosave: every entry is written to durable local storage as it happens
- Inspections filled and completed without connectivity
- Evidence captured and stored locally: photos, audio, signatures
- Asset context available locally: history, due dates, out-of-service state
- Full PDF report generated on the device
- Report verification against the local source record
Current-state note: inspection data is stored in Fenwix's app-private local storage. Fenwix does not currently use an application-level encrypted database, and does not claim to.
Architecture direction
ROADMAP
Required before enterprise sync or an enterprise pilot, whichever comes first: encrypted local database, encrypted evidence vault, append-only operation log and a resumable sync queue. These are architectural requirements for data leaving the device, not shipped features today.
